IMDb is absolutely one of my favorite sites and have been a member of their online community since 2008. It was the first ting I sneaked off to sign up to once I got my email address in high school and have cherished it since. When I first made my community profile (found here) I had become obsessed with writing reviews (all of which have reached this site in some capacity) and making lists (like a categorical list of everything I've ever seen; found here). So when I finally made it on the actual database, I was ecstatic. To many of my friends also in this business getting on the site was nothing, but it meant the world to me.
LinkedIn is a gateway into my professional network. On it you will find my many qualifications and skills relative to my career. My profile on the site is a great way of checking out my credentials and experience before contacting me or seeing why I have contacted you. Although I am relatively stilled in many expertise, you will never hear me claim that I know everything about the field, because in all honesty, I don't; I am always learning with each new experience I have, working as a team. Let's face it, I am a people person, and I love working with new people as much as I like working my with my friends. I put in over 110% to every project I am involved with because I believe in the industry as much as I believe in everyone around me.
YouTube is a wonderful invention and my channel currently holds everything from short films I have made or helped, random fun videos, and edits. Unfortunately I don't update it as much as I should, but please subscribe because, well, it's worth it. Just think you're bored, browsing on YouTube, perhaps having a bad day, you go to your subscription feed and BAM! My new video is up. I try to feature a mix of fun edits as well as new content-- often comedic. YouTube is simply a means to have fun while showing you all what I can do, and how I get better with ever additional year that God grants me on this wonderful planet.
Vimeo is similar to YouTube, however it is only where I show off my own professional work, such as short films of merit and I will not be uploading random videos or edits that I do as to my profile will be strictly a professional showcase of my work as a filmmaker. The reason for uploading my films onto Vimeo is simply because it easy way to get slick, high quality versions of my work to enthusiasts of film. While YouTube is great for me to exhibit fun expression, Vimeo is a great way for me to exhibit artistic expression and I hope you guys will like it. So if you have the time, why not follow me, and look forward to some awesome videos headed your way very soon.
Twitter is filled with random nonsense; I basically post funny tweets, tweet to friends and celebrities that will never respond back, and spam my followers with linked social networking accounts like GetGlue. So if you can bare through that, follow me! I love getting followers, it's like blood to a vampire; and those robot accounts that follow me are like the synthetic Tru Blood... they help me survive, but real blood is preferred. Okay, I will admit that was a strange analogy, so just so I can keep everything clear, I will add a disclaimer at the end of this sentence: I am not a vampire, nor do I endorse the drinking of blood-- human or animal.
Tumblr was hard getting into at first because I thought if I found a picture that I liked, why would I put it on tumblr when as I add more and more those picture would be forgotten? Well, while I still agree that has some truth, I have learned to adapt. Generally I post daily pictures that reflect my thoughts or interests which very between zombies, film, gaming, and occasionally something called Pokéshipping (because I believe, as many of you do too, that Ash and Misty should be together). I know I'm weird, and so is my brain; so if you dare, wander further into The Wonderful World of Haas.
Instagram is a must have for iPhone users; it's an unwritten law. Although I try not to post the generic food posts and all that jazz, some slip in, so I will apologize a head of time for that. With my Instagram posts I pretend I am a professional photographer and post cool or funny picture with a filter here and a filter there. I believe CollegeHumor says it best: "I'm friggin' Michelangelo! Fireworks in the sky, a super close-up of my eye; now a selfie, lookin' cute, in the same room where I poop... No you haven't really seen a setting sun 'till you see it on the screen where you play Temple Run; I'm so hell-bent on documentin' peach pie... Think it's bad wait until I'm 33; so many picture of my kids you'll want to murder me!" (watch video here)
MyAnimeList is an awesome site that maps out, in an orderly fashion, all the anime one watches or will watch and all the manga one reads or will read. I am not obsessed with them to the point that I only am involved with them nor do I claim to be the biggest fan, but I am a fan nonetheless. I've got a lot on my list and doubt I'll ever catch up to many of my friends, but I am excited to try. Anime and manga can be absolutely brilliant, it's just a shame that more people outside the fan base aren't exposed to them as much as they should be, because, well... they should be. I started watching/reading in 2010 and haven't looked back.
